COMMENTARY - Planet Of The Apes

You know the how this works.  Aaron had Jim Dietz and myself on to discuss all things planet of the Apes.  Of course the discussion couldn't be JUST that.  We talk about the franchise and science fiction of the era Planet of the Apes came out as well.  Its another dynamite commentary discussion and it really could have gone well on through Beneath easily (we go past the credits a bit too).  We'll save that for another day.  But, for this day, here's the the commentary for the original.

COMMENTARY: X-Men

Hey, I got to do another awesome podcast commentary for Out Now With Aaron & Abe (what's new, right?).  And this time we're talking over the original X-Men.  Along with myself, host Aaron Neuwirth, Jim Dietz and the diabolical Scott Mendelson lend our mutant power of being obsessed movie geeks to discuss the original film in the franchise.  Whether ye be working, working out, driving, sitting around or watching X-Men, click to the link below to listen!

Retropolis: Halloween & The Midnight Movies

The great Jim Dietz returns with another terrific guest spot here in the Halloween Retrospective.  This was originally published last week on Jim's blog, but he slid it my way to be an inclusion in this retrospective.  And thank you, Jim for that.  This is a great look back at his experiences with midnight movie revivals and his first taste of John Carpenter's Halloween.

Halloween III: Season Of The Witch REVISITED! (Guest Article)

Fellow colleague and one of my favorite people to discuss movies and movie history with when given the opportunity (listen to our commentaries!) has stopped by to take the guest mic here at Naptown Nerd.  Jim Dietz of the HHWLOD Podcast Network is here to weigh in some more on the topic of Halloween III: Season Of The Witch and give his take on this fascinating black sheep entry in the Halloween franchise!

Pitch Black Commentary!

Last week, podcasting stalwart Aaron Neuwirth rounded up the legendary Jim Dietz and myself to do another one of the famous Out Now With Aaron  & Abe film commentaries.  This time, in timely fashion it was for Pitch Black.  You know the drill.  I also want to credit this podcast with willing the big casting news of Kurt Russell in Fast & Furious 7 to happen.  We put the vibe out into the universe early in the week and it was acted upon by week's end!  You don't have to be watching the film to listen.  These are just as fun without the visual.  After the jump is a link where you can find where to listen.  Grab your headphones, entertainment follows!

Breakin' 2: Diesel Boogaloo

A special thanks to Jim Dietz for sharing this lovely piece of 1984 with me last night.  At age 17, Vin Diesel did an instructional video on the art of break dancing.  Cracked covered this in an article a year ago, but I guess I never saw it.  However, its quite humorous and perfectly timed for the Riddick Retrospective.  As if you couldn't find more ways to love this unique individual, you go and dig up this.  After the jump is a link to the video.  My favorite part is where his dance partner accidentally kicks him in the junk.  Don't worry, Vin plays it cool.
